Pickleball and Bowling - 2026 - Charlottetown, PEI
The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the PEI Pickleball and Bowing event, 23 September 2026 is now open.
The application deadline is 7 September. 2026.
AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Join Soldier On for a fun-filled day of pickleball and bowling, where everyone is welcome to get involved, have some fun, and try something new. Whether you're picking up a paddle for the first time or looking to build on your skills, the day is designed to be relaxed, supportive, and accessible for all abilities.
We're also excited to have Parasport PEI joining us to showcase wheelchair pickleball, a fast-growing sport that will make its debut at the 2027 Invictus Games. Participants will have the opportunity to give it a try, learn more about adaptive sport, and see firsthand how pickleball can be enjoyed by everyone.
The day will include beginner-friendly instruction, friendly games, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow Soldier On members. With a focus on recreation, wellness, and camaraderie, you'll leave with new skills, greater confidence, and ideas for continuing these activities in your own community.
The number of Soldier On participants is limited to
12.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF)
from Prince Edward Island who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
DRAFT SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
23 September
- 10:00-12:00- Bowling
- 12:00-1:00 -Group Lunch
- 1:00-4:00 - Pickleball
TRANSPORTATION & MEALS:
Participants are advised that meals and transportation will not be provided by Soldier On for this event. Participants will be required to arrange their own travel to and from the event location, travel and meals are not eligible for reimbursement for this event.
Mental & Physical Requirements:
Participants should be able to take part in light to moderate physical activity for approximately 5–6 hours throughout the day. This wheelchair-accessible event will include seated and standing activities, upper body movement, mobility around the facility, and participation in pickleball and bowling at each participant’s own pace. Adaptive equipment, modifications, and support will be available to help ensure everyone can participate safely and comfortably.
Participants should be comfortable following instructions, engaging in a group setting, and adapting to a variety of activity levels in a supportive environment. Rest breaks will be provided as needed.
Applicants will be joined with other ill/injured members and civilians, and therefore should be able to function in a social environment.
